The door closes, and I am alone. I’ve recovered enough to think straight. I need to get away from Lazarus. I'm back in reality now. That man was murdered. If I don’t get away from Anton, he is going to force me to do the same thing, or I will end up the same way.

I think I’m about to throw up. I sit up and stare at the television screen for a long time, but the images on it aren’t registering. I can’t stay here any longer, or I’m going to end up dead. I don’t want to go back to the record company, but even that would be safer. If I’m in the public eye, at least Anton Lazarus can't get to me.

I expected him to do something to keep me trapped here. I'm even a little surprised to hear a dial tone when I pick up the phone. I dial 911 and wait for them to pick up. When they do, I say, “Hello, my name is Becki Murphy, the singer. I have been kidnapped and I need help.”
