Cut Scene 11
The glowing pulse saber had an enhanced blade that had been a prize for Kilgore's bravery in the Jorbian Campaign. Spidrons had struck an Imperial forward base before it could be completely evacuated. A Galaxy Knight had little option to upgrade weapons and armor. Upon recruitment, Knights are hard-wired with class-1 Imperial blasters and a class-B pulse saber.
The attachments are so deeply bundled that the entire arm must be replaced for a Knight to wield any unformatted weapon. Rules of the Steel Brothers state that a brother can be sentenced to death for the use of unsanctioned weapons. That a class-B energy weapon capable of taking down a bulkhead door, so complaints are few and far between.
Kilgore could not match Duke’s speed in his bulky Gunner armor. Galaxy Knights were designed to form a living wall that spewed a constant wall of fire. Knights planted their feet side by side, and defined the borders of Imperial space. Duke hit Kilgore three times before Kilgore could line up a single strike with his pulse saber. Kilgore’s attack went far wide, and allowed Duke an open flank to strike twice more. The sword could not penetrate the heavy plates, but each success discharged energy through Kilgore’s body. Kilgore had no other weapons but a couple grenades.
