Episode 2

Scene 1

INT. TRAVIS’S APARTMENT. NIGHT

Low angle, looking up on TRAVIS’s apartment. One lamp is already on, sitting on an end table by the window across the room near center frame. The quarters are small. The furniture is sparse and used. TRAVIS and DANNY enter.

TRAVIS: The couch is comfortable.

DANNY takes off her jacket, lays it over the chair.

DANNY: You said you had a six-pack.

TRAVIS: How much you planning to drink tonight?

DANNY: I’ll let you know when I’m ready to stop. .

TRAVIS takes two beer cans from the refrigerator and opens them.

TRAVIS gives a can to DANNY.

TRAVIS: I’ll start you off with this, see how much it makes you want to talk.

DANNY: What do you want to talk about?

TRAVIS: I’m sure you could tell me some stories about this weird ass town.

DANNY: I try my hardest not to think about this little town.

TRAVIS: Those thugs been here all their lives?

DANNY: Jesse and Frank? Oh yeah.

TRAVIS: They’ll die here.

DANNY: Holy, shit, I can’t believe you slagged both of them, like you’re some kind of ninja! What did you do before you came to Boonville?

TRAVIS: Same shit, different day.

DANNY: No, no, no, you have got to tell me. Are Green Beret, or something? (mimicking karate chops.) Holy shit, you were like ‘Wah! Wah!’ That was amazing!

CLOSEUP: TRAVIS smirking.

TRAVIS: Naw, that was nothing. I didn’t want to hurt those little boys.

DANNY: But you could have.

TRAVIS: I could have.

DANNY: Probably won’t stay here long, huh?

TRAVIS: Not if I can help it. These people are fucking wierd!

They laugh.

TRAVIS: What was up with that lady from the store today?

DANNY: Oh yeah, nasty old Teal.

TRAVIS: Does she work? What does she do? Can that cabin be seen from the road?

DANNY sits close to TRAVIS.

DANNY leans her face close.

DANNY: I can tell you one thing, I didn’t come here to talk about mutant kids.

TRAVIS stands.

TRAVIS: Now you have had a lot to drink, and I am not sure you are old enough to know the type of man I am.

DANNY embraces TRAVIS, kissing him, tearing at his clothes.

MUSIC: ROSETTA STONE--”Spoiler”

MUSIC MONTAGE: tasteful sex scene without nudity, first on the couch, then in the bedroom.

FADE MUSIC:

INT. BEDROOM. NIGHT.

CROSS FADE: Match scene, lights are off. TRAVIS is sitting up in bed. DANNY is asleep beside him.

TRAVIS carefully slides from beneath DANNY and gets out of bed.
