Boonville

Scene 2

EXT. TRAVIS’S APARTMENT. NIGHT.

Soft focus on the, full moon. Sharpens until craters are visible. Camera pans down and zooms out over the town skyline, settling on the front door of Travis’s apartment building. It stays in the center of the shot as camera trucks back to reveal a car parked, occupants watching him. It is FRANK and JESSE.

JESSE: You think McBride’s in there? (Punches hand) Maybe we can give her a little afterglow?

FRANK: I don’t give a fuck about McBride. I want to show that old man a thing or two about a thing or two.

JESSE: Well, you don’t even know which apartment is his, so how do you plan to do that?

FRANK: I don’t know, man, why don’t you stop being so negative. We’ll figure something out.

JESSE: Let’s just go home and forget the whole thing.

FRANK: Forget the whole thing? You got the piss beat out of you, and you want to forget the whole thing? You’re an even bigger pussy than I thought you were, Jess. Now come on, grab the crowbar under the seat and let’s go knock on some doors.

JESSE: Hey look!

TRAVIS leaves the apartment building and goes to his truck.

FRANK: Where the fuck is he going at this hour? Does he have a boyfriend McBride doesn’t know about?

JESSE: Maybe they had a tiff.

FRANK: (starting the car) He’s not going to get there.

FRANK follows TRAVIS at a distance until they are outside of town.

JESSE: Where the hell is he going?

FRANK: Maybe he knows he’d better get out of town, or we’re going to kick his ass.

Insert of sign. “MURTHA ROAD.”

FRANK turns off the lights.

FRANK: Don’t want this fucker knowing he’s being followed.

As FRANK slows, Travis’s taillights get further away, then turn off.

JESSE: Did he stop?

FRANK pulls over the car and turns it off.
