Two Winters Past

EXT. HIGHWAY. LATE AFTERNOON

FADE IN:

Sun is already hanging low in the sky. Everything is cast in an orange hue. CHLOE ISIS and VALENTINE are walking down the highway. They are haggard.

VALENTINE: You can rest in a car again if you need to.

CHLOE ISIS: That will give Jack a chance to catch up.

VALENTINE: Jack didn’t make it.

CHLOE ISIS: You don’t know that.

VALENTINE: All he had was a sword. You’d need a missile to take care of whatever that thing was.

CHLOE ISIS tries several car doors until she finds one that opens. She sits in the front seat.

VALENTINE hands CHLOE ISIS a wrapped stick of string cheese.

VALENTINE: I found this in a cupboard before the attack.

CHLOE ISIS: Do you think it’s still good?

VALENTINE: Doesn’t look moldy. Probably not really food anyway. Just eat it and don’t think about it.

CHLOE ISIS: What if Whitney Point has been looted?

VALENTINE: I’m not going to think about that right now.
