Two Winters Past

EXT. ROAD. NIGHT

CONTINUITY ERROR: Lighting exposure and full sound reveal this scene was filmed on a soundstage. Background is an unidentifiable blur of black and grey strokes of tree trunks. All actors appear dry. Original footage was lost in a computer crash, and actors were called back in for reshoots. CHLOE ISIS has a clearly different haircut from a movie the actress was filming at the time.

CHLOE ISIS, VALENTINE, and MOLAY are running into shot. Background is a blur of black and straight brush

CHLOE ISIS: I was following the sound of the motorcycles. I was afraid there was trouble when I heard them stop.

MOLAY: Thanks for bringing my sword, I’d hate to go back for it.

VALENTINE: We can find another sword.

MOLAY: Not a magick sword.

CHLOE ISIS: Magic? Are you serious?

MOLAY: Whatever comes out of that muck at the river, this is the only sword that can kill it.

VALENTINE: Is it from your order?

MOLAY: Passed down for generations by the Grand Masters. Our sacred obligation is to put down this menace when it rises.

VALENTINE: You’re a Grand Master?

MOLAY: I didn’t go through the rituals, but there is no one left to carry the burden.

VALENTINE: You can’t expect us to believe that. If it’s your obligation, why didn’t you kill the monsters back there?

MOLAY: No one said it was easy. This sword requires a lot more than its blade to bring down the monster. I need to learn the rituals and invocations. The blade thrust is only a small part of the whole ordeal.

CLOSEUP: VALENTINE.

VALENTINE: Those bikers knew you.

MOLAY does not know how to respond at first.

VALENTINE: They said you stole a bike from them.

MOLAY: I never did get along with these rednecks.

VALENTINE: Who is Blythe?

MOLAY: He’s a friend. He’s a good. You might meet him. He’s a good guy. He’s probably made it to the Castle by now.

CHLOE ISIS: Those things can probably smell us from here. Let’s walk faster.

VALENTINE: What is the Castle?.

MOLAY: It’s a fort, down in Castle Creek. I know a place we can camp, and then we’ll continue on to the Castle in the morning.

FADE TO BLACK.
Continued tomorrow
