Episode 5
Andy McCarthy was already on his way. As soon as the two ships had descended into the lower atmosphere of TAO Fantasy, Andy spun his desk chair from the laptop to the computer and started running his paladin, Duke, toward the crash site.
Duke had been waiting atop a small rise overlooking a forest that contained a community of NPC elves. The location was popular with Warriors who came here to rest and recuperate, and take advantage of the wizards and priests that came with hopes of learning the rare healing spells the elves had crafted over generations. To do this, players must convince the elves the spells will be used only for good. The elves could see any evil act the character committed for weeks. If they saw too much, they would not teach any spells. All Mods were healed automatically, but no combat was allowed in the forest, which made it an uneasy no-man’s land for rouge players and the Mod White Knights that could not attack them.
Taking down two space ships was not an easy task, and if any were equipped for the task, it was Duke. He fought with a Sun Sword, one of the strongest blades in the game, standard issue for a White Knight. The likelihood was slim of a party forming and hacking through the hordes of Morgoth in time to reach the Sci Fi players before they did too much damage. Duke needed to take action.
