Freeing herself from the wreckage, Sita Moon leapt from the stairs, wrapping her legs around the thick, short neck of Morgoth the Mighty. The orc’s hand was the size of her torso, and he got it around Sita Moon’s waist. Morgoth slammed Sita Moon’s body on the ground before him and raised his axe for the kill. His orcs crowded around him in anticipation of the feast.
“She’s mine!” Duke shouted. This turned all attention to him. The White Knight strode into the room, glowing sword bared.
The Cthulhu Dagger reacted so fast Sita Moon didn’t see it move. The blade buried its self under the orc’s chest plate to the soft spot of flesh under his ribs. The dark enchantment leeched into Morgoth’s blood, making the giant orc wail once in pain and fall away.
The orcs went berserk. No longer under the sway of their master, they charged Duke. An orc will always choose the best fight between a combatant and non-combatant. Sita Moon tried to crawl away, but she had barely any strength remaining. Duke fought the orcs, cutting them apart, but never took his eyes off his true goal, Sita Moon.
When the orcs and goblins were dead, Duke strode proudly to her crawling, near-inert form.
“I can’t tell you how long I’ve waited for this,” Duke said. He stepped over her and raised his Sun Sword. “We aren’t supposed to care,” he said, “but I’ve always wanted to see you die.” Duke raised his sword to strike.
“Why?” asked Sita Moon.
Duke seemed shocked to have heard her voice. He did not have time to respond.
The motion came first, followed by sound. Duke was already flying limp through the air when Sita Moon registered the crack that sent him crashing into a stone wall.
Morgoth didn’t hesitate to press his advantage, leaping the distance between him and the fallen White Knight. Morgoth roared as he hacked Duke’s body and armor apart, not stopping until long after the White Knight was surely dead.
Morgoth stood panting with exertion a moment before he turned on Sita Moon. No orcs remained. Only the giant orc and tiny naked elf were alive in the room. Sita Moon had regained some of her strength, but could still not escape, let alone fight off the likes of Morgoth the Mighty.
Morgoth took a step, then another, crossing the gap between them. The orc extended his hand and stopped short of grabbing her. “We should probably go,” Morgoth said. “White Knights don’t stay dead long.”
