Two Winters Past

Scene 7

EXT. HIGHWAY

Wide angle.Hillside over a riverbank. Highway winds along at the treeline. Tiny figures walk along the road.

HOLT: There’s no cars on the highway. Hasn’t been for miles.

MARY JANE: I doubt many people drove this road.

Closeup: HOLT. He is nervous.

HOLT: There should have been something! Wasn’t so dead that there’s no cars here.

HOOK: Holt’s right. Last car I remember seeing was in the afternoon, yesterday.

LOGAN yawns.

TIFF: Are there many people in your town, Logan?

Closeup: LOGAN. He takes his time answering.

LOGAN: Deposit? Naw, it’s dead. Couple other survivors, but we keep to ourselves. Hancock people cleared out the cannibals and said we could come live with them.

HOLT: You didn’t want to?

LOGAN: Them cannibals walk right past us now, long as we keep quiet. We gonna see now them monsters ain’t what we need be worrying about.

AIDEN: What should we be worrying about?

LOGAN chuckles.
