EXT. YARD. EVENING.
VIC is emerging from the shed. KAY is running at him from the house.
KAY: VIC!!
VIC looks out from the shed. KAY is running across the yard. She screams shrilly.
KAY: Vic! There are bodies!
VIC: What the fuck are you talking about?
KAY reaches him and falls at his feet.
KAY: Bodies in the basement! She’s a cannibal!
KAY: Bodies in the basement! She’s a cannibal!
VIC: Bullshit.
KAY: Come and see! It’s the smell, I found it!
VIC follows KAY inside.
KAY: Where is your lighter?
VIC takes a Zippo from his pocket.
VIC: You’re going to be in trouble if there ain’t nothing. Got some good shit in the shed. Shovels. Shears. There’s even a hammer.
They go into the basement.
INT. BASEMENT. EVENING.
VIC comes down the stairs. KAY follows.
Med shot: KAY fights not to vomit.
Closeup: VIC lights the Zippo.
Wide shot: Cluttered basement now illuminated, we now see even more corpses.
INSERT: Multiple closeups on the bodies. Some are so decomposed they are nearly a skeleton. All have smashed skulls or removed hands. Take great detail examining the wounds on the hanging corpses. Meathooks are impaled under the shoulder blade. One corpse is so rotten it is about away from the hook.
KAY screams and gags and throws up, but is able to avoid a clumsy punch by VIC.
VIC is not bothered by the smell.

VIC comes down the stairs. KAY follows.
Med shot: KAY fights not to vomit.
Closeup: VIC lights the Zippo.

VIC inspects a workbench. A fresh body is laid out. The head is entirely missing. The arms have been carefully peeled back from the bone, with layers of fat and muscle rolled back to expose muscle layers within. The body cavity has been opened and all the guts and viscera removed.
VIC: They eating people or something?
KAY: Let’s go, Vic. Let’s get out of here, we can’t stay.
VIC: Oh, you’re right. I ain’t staying in this place. You wish I’d killed that old lady?
KAY: The son must be here. The son must have done this. He’ll eat us too, Vic.
VIC: I ain’t getting eaten by no one, and I’m not letting that old bitch get away with something like this.
VIC pushes past KAY, who follows him up the stairs.
INT. LAUNDRY ROOM. DAY.
VIC runs through. KAY follows.
BEDROOM:
We are in the bedroom, but the camera angle cannot see the bed. We hear VIC approaching.
INT. LAUNDRY ROOM. DAY.
VIC runs through. KAY follows.
BEDROOM:
We are in the bedroom, but the camera angle cannot see the bed. We hear VIC approaching.
VIC: We know what kind of freak you are! (To KAY) I ought to make you do it, insisting I keep this bitch alive.
KAY: You were right, Vic, I should have listened to you.
VIC smashes into the bedroom and stops short. KAY collides with him, looking first at his shocked face, then to the bed. Pan camera to the bed. It is empty. Cut shoe laces remain.
KAY screams and scrambles out of the room, but VIC is running and pushes past her, knocking KAY into the door frame.
VIC nearly reaches the stairs when MIRANDA steps from the bathroom and hits him in the neck with a hatchet.
VIC’s blood covers everything, spraying out of him in jets as he crashes down the stairs. MIRANDA turns on KAY.
KAY charges, knocking MIRANDA aside and lunging down the stairs.
She is blocked by VIC’s twisted body.
MIRANDA chases, and grapples with KAY. MIRANDA hits KAY in the head with the hatchet.
KAY falls over VIC.
MIRANDA stands over her, bloody hatchet in hand.
KAY screams and scrambles out of the room, but VIC is running and pushes past her, knocking KAY into the door frame.
