Two Winters Past

Scene 18

INT. HOUSE, FRONT DOOR

BLYTHE closes the door and puts his back against it.

BLYTHE: We got to go.

SPIDER: Who was that?

BLYTHE: A very dangerous man. He’ll be back here tonight.

SPIDER: We’ll kill them, just like the others. You were so gallant, John. I love you so much!

BLYTHE: I love you too, Spider, but we can’t fight him. There’s a motorcycle gang a town called Triangle. Probably twenty or thirty men, maybe more.

SPIDER: They have motorcycles?

BLYTHE:l Built'em themselves. Old design, before the first war, before electronic cars all got wires and computers.

SPIDER: Those bikes could take us to safety.

BLYTHE: Where is safety? No power anywhere, everyplace crawling with rippers. The Swordsman seen it.

SPIDER: Who is the Swordsman?

BLYTHE: He goes all over, been at it since first winter. He seen everything, keeps us all informed on what's going by. He says there's an army of Moslems coming this way. I ain't about to meet'um trapped behind that fence with Turner.

SPIDER: So we kill that man and take his motorcycle!

BLYTHE:  We'll see if it's that easy.
