Revenge of AIN SOPH: Level 1

Level 1:
The Seed Planet

Cut Scene 1

Galaxy Knights were not born, they were constructed on a genetic level to be the greatest warriors the universe has ever seen. Young soldiers were raised on training planets, suits of CybR armor were welded to a his skeleton when he was still a boy. Galaxy Knights were all male. Kilgore was a Gunner Knight, with heavy armor, and a Class 2 blaster hard-wired to his helmet. His real eyes were removed to accommodate the advanced targeting systems. His right arm was a pulse saber, but Gunner Knights were slow in hand-to-hand. Both weapons were fully integrated to the CybR and could be deployed with a thought. The Steel Brethren brought the fight as hard and vicious as it could be fought.

The ship caught fire in the atmosphere, and Kilgore was unable to size up the terrain on final approach. As far as he could determine, he was plummeting toward a fully-developed, but entirely uncharted planet. The ship hit the ground and exploded, burying Kilgore deep in the dirt, but not inflicting enough damage to kill him. He consumed a battery to restore his health as the ship exploded. The blaze was spectacular, and the fire burnt Kilgore for 500HP. Still he fought from the debris and the flaming crater.

Combat music crashed and burst. Kilgore was in the middle of a fight. The CybR activated defense mode before Kilgore's human brain could register. He faced a Spidron Titan, a huge and ugly thing with Swords for arms, and a mass of tentacles, all glistening with a layer of slime that deflected fire from light blasters. The monster was engaged with a blue-haired elf. The green name above her head was SITA MOON. She wore light armor, and fought with a flaming scimitar. She was so fast Kilgore could hardly keep track of her dance.

The Spidron Titan was a bloated and hungry beast. Spidrons form as worms, growing limbs and claws and spikes and teeth as they devour all usable minerals on a planet's surface. Spidrons preferred organic material, it was soft and malleable, easily formed into new Spidrons in the inferno at the center of a Spidron swarm.

The blaze swirled in long ribbons about Sita Moon as she hacked and jabbed, testing the monster’s skills and weaknesses. Each strike did less than 100 points of damage. A Spidron Titan could have hundreds of thousands. Eventually the Spidron would strike her, and that strike would kill Sita Moon.

Could she be the mother Willful1 spoke of? Kilgore crossed endless hartek to be here, and was not about to watch her die on a Spidron’s claws. A Galaxy Knight did not stand around looking at the pretty scenery when there was battle to be joined.

Sita Moon’s only help came from a red-robed wizard who wrapped the Spidron in flames. 5,000 damage, and the Spidron burned for another 300. The wizard’s Green name was CALOIN.

CALOIN: Fuck a large duck in the ass.

The Spidron reared up, a horrid mass of chitin and claw, slashing and biting, but unable to score a hit. Floating around Sita Moon was a green length of blade that spun lazily. The Spidron got on Sita Moon's blind side, a slash that would kill. The green blade flew to deflect, it's feeble strike like a pin-prick that still knocked the Spidron claw away.

The Spidron needed only a moment to recover. These creatures dropped on worlds by the millions to devour all life they could find. A Spidron swarm could reduce a planet to bare rock in a month. To see only one monster was rare, but Kilgore feared it was still more than a match for these two fighters. He closed the distance between them. Combat music swelled, drowning out all other sounds. If Kilgore was good at one thing only, he was good at killing Spidrons.
