Revenge of AIN SOPH: Level 1

Cut Scene 7

Kilgore had crossed vast distances of cold, empty space to find Sita Moon, but let her go at the insistence of a wizard a third his size. Kilgore felt distinct shame at turning his back on a fight, but he couldn’t risk the elf siding against him. The tracker still worked, he could stay close and monitor her actions from a distance.

All citizens of the Galactic Empire were required by law to revere the Imperator. He liberated the Known Universe under his rule. His story is taught in every Imperial school across the territory.

The Imperator was a powerful wizard on his homeworld, known only as 'the Seed Planet.' He sundered a rift in space, allowing him to escape. He infused magick with technology and created the Hubs, a means to pass quickly between distant planets. The Imperator built great machines for transporting troops, and the first brotherhoods of Galactic Knights were established. The Imperator spread order across the Galaxy.

The Imperator lived many generations, and conquered much space, but found defeat at the hands of his closest ally. Tarmagus, Arch-Commander of all Galactic Knights. A third of the Imperator's legions went into open rebellion. The Galaxy Empire was wracked by fighting and reduced to rubble.

The Imperator led his 100,000 Galactic Knights against Tarmagus and drew all magick into himself. The explosion left nothing alive. The broken body of the Imperator was supposedly recovered years later, dead but still dreaming. He was interred in the heart of his favorite planet, and is today the source of all Hub energry that allows for fast travel across space. Pax Galactus followed in the wake of the destruction. Unbeknownst, the great flash of light from the Imperator's explosion had attracted the attention of the Spidrons from Deep Space.

Caloin led Sita Moon south on the road. They passed few travelers. There was enough high ground that Kilgore was able to follow with little trouble. CybR suits were covered with photoreactive cells that bent light. It was not total invisibility, but provided some camouflage, even in the open. They were headed toward a walled city on the coast. It was Corinth, crown jewel of the Gastillion Empire.
