Revenge of AIN SOPH, Level 1

Cut Scene 9

Much of a Galaxy Knight’s life was spent quiet in transit from one war front to the next. Space flights were often long and dangerous, and pilots required complete stasis onboard to avoid subtle shifts in weight rolling a ship into the path of a distant meteor. Kilgore regularly used this time to study his database. He programmed the CybR to follow Caloin, and Kilgore slipped into the recesses of his mind.

The little wizard talked incessantly, recounting past conquests and accomplishments, most of which sounded to be the work of Sita Moon. She claimed no credit.

CALOIN: she doesn’t ever talk
CALOIN: she just kills every fucking thing in sight
CALOIN: we get half of total experience if we stay in combat range
CALOIN: that’s a lot of space if you stay ranged

Sita Moon was in Kilgore’s database. She was a legendary warrior  rumored to wield a weapon that could slay any monster in a single strike. She used it to slay the monster, King Dagon. Was that the green dagger that floated about her at all times? Her legend was known on every corner of the globe. As far as Kilgore could ascertain, he’d found the real Sita Moon. For the moment, he was content to follow.

CALOIN: fuck a large duck in the ass

KILGORE: What’s wrong?

CALOIN: we got company

KILGORE: My armor is not designed for hand-to-hand.

CALOIN: sita moon can handle it

KILGORE: Gunner Knights form defensive positions and hold back enemy advancement.

CALOIN: relax man
CALOIN: sita moon is a monster

They walked on. Rain fell, and the waves lashed at the shore. Small monsters attacked, and were easily dispatched. Caloin preferred ice attacks, either cones of cold, ice spikes, or frosting attacks.  He only used them when he absolutely needed them.

Sita Moon did the rest. She relied on a flaming scimitar that trailed about her as she danced. Attacks against her were deflected by the green short sword that spun lazily around her.

Kilgore could do little more than defend himself. The crabs and wolves that populated these flood plains were incapable of getting through his CybR suit. Sita Moon did the killing, Kilgore advanced at all times.

"Advance Always" was the motto of the Steel Brethren. That is what a Galaxy Knight did when faced with a dilemma. Sita Moon fought, Caloin talked, and Kilgore advanced. Corinth grew larger as they approached.

CALOIN: fuck a large duck in the ass
CALOIN: with a stick.

Caloin walked faster. Sita Moon picked up her pace. Kilgore ran to keep up.

KILGORE: What is wrong?

CALOIN: we move a little faster

KILGORE: Is there a threat?

CALOIN: not if you move a little faster
