Set: Beatrice’s living room.
LIGHTS UP
There is a knock at the door. A few seconds later there is another knock. JANESSA enters.
JANESSA
Beatrice! Are you here? Where are you? Is anybody here?
DR. DENDROBATES (OS)
I’m here.
JANESSA
What? Who’s that?
Beatrice! Are you here? Where are you? Is anybody here?
DR. DENDROBATES (OS)
I’m here.
JANESSA
What? Who’s that?
DR. DENDROBATES enters with his cloak over his head.
JANESSA (cont)
Who are you? Where’s Beatrice.
DR. DENDROBATES
I brought this for her.
Who are you? Where’s Beatrice.
DR. DENDROBATES
I brought this for her.
He produces a bottle of pills from his pocket.
JANESSA
Sweet!
DR. DENDROBATES
It's the very last bottle of Cryonex. I’ve destroyed the rest.
JANESSA
All of it?
DR. DENDROBATES
If I leave this with you, can I be sure Beatrice gets it?
JANESSA
Oh yeah.
Sweet!
DR. DENDROBATES
It's the very last bottle of Cryonex. I’ve destroyed the rest.
JANESSA
All of it?
DR. DENDROBATES
If I leave this with you, can I be sure Beatrice gets it?
JANESSA
Oh yeah.
JANESSA takes the bottle of pills. DR. DENDROBATES exits. JANESSA eats a handful of pills.
