Cut Scene 4
Combat drove the Spidron onto the beach, but it refused to enter the surf. Sita Moon was nailing opportunistic strike after sneaky blow, and was gone before the great Spidron could turn to respond. The titan focused on Kilgore, slamming his CybR with the crusher claw. The titan's claw was a heavy cudgel for cracking armor. The Spidron only needed to swing enough times.
Kilgore hit an exposed joint below the Spidron’s thorax for a solid 1000 points of damage. When a Galaxy Knight could connect an attack, they got the job done. The optics and artificial intelligence in in the CybR could calculate and multiply damage with each attack. He would still need a few more solid hits would bring down the Spidron.
Caloin had backed off to heal. Sita Moon maintained a position between them, throwing herself at the Spidron. It responded immediately to the new threat. Sita Moon ducked beneath a wide swing of its ripper claw and chopped the monster's head with her flaming scimitar.
Kilgore backed out of the fight. This battle had become as interesting as it was going to be. Kilgore was going to finish this fight with his blaster.
The weapon engaged, clamping and extending around his hand. The ammo clip engaged and the synchronizers in Kilgore's helmet took full control at the same moment Caloin detonated a fireball on the Spidron's head, throwing the monster into Kilgore. His shot was deflected into the air. Spidrons are immune to stunning, and was back in the fight immediately, grabbing Kilgore's gun-arm in its jaws and lifting him in the air. Kilgore grappled the face, attempting to put the pulse saber through an eye-mass, but he was taking massive damage as the monster swung him back and forth.

Kilgore grappled the face, attempting to put the pulse saber through an eye-mass, but he was taking massive damage as the monster swung him back and forth.
As Kilgore dangled, the Spidron set upon him with the spindly climbing claws at the base of its thorax. Kilgore kicked and parried with the pulse saber, but Spidrons are unmatched in melee fighting. Spidrons operate with a hive mind, and have no regard for individual life. Swarms would sacrifice millions to land a few among a position of Galaxy Knights, because a few tough Spidrons were all they needed to shred any opposition they came across. All were consumed, the swarm always advanced.
The elbow of the CybR broke, and Kilgore’s arm tore free. He splashed into the surf, beyond where the Spidron would follow. The salt water seemed to hurt the sensitive tail cluster. The CybR scanned the water, and it came back pure, the cleanest water Kilgore ever encountered on any planet. Kilgore was knee-deep, outside the creature’s reach. Sephiroth called this the Icewater Sea, and the beach was an Imperial highway. Kilgore was so overwhelmed with information it stunned him momentarily, leaving him open to the Spidron’s claws. 500 points of damage. 651 more. Kilgore was knocked on his back, but got his pulse sabre up to block the next attack. The monster was unrelenting, but Kilgore held it back. Most of his left arm was gone below the elbow. There was a little blood, it was his last organic limb.
Spears of ice rammed through the Spidron’s body for 1,000 points of damage, and the monster was knocked on its back. It recovered immediately, but Sita Moon pressed her advantage. The Spidron flailed with its giant claws, but Sita Moon made no motion to avoid. Each strike was deflected by the floating green dagger.
Combat music swelled as Sita Moon ran up the Spidron's back, dodging two swings and planting her boots on the Spidron's shoulder. With both hands she plunged the blade down into the Spidron's head between the two glistening eye masses. Pounding drums and chanting music covered all sounds but the Spidron's roars. The nimble elf held her footing, stabbing again and again with the blade, reducing the chitin head to pulp. The combat music climaxed. Sita Moon wrenched her blade free and lopped off the Spidron's head. The monster collapsed. She hopped off before it hit the sand, landing before Kilgore.
Combat music faded.
CALOIN: Fuck a large duck in the ass.
Kilgore inspected his injury. Cauterizing agents stopped the bleeding. Local and general pain-killers already dumped in Kilgore’s system, carefully balanced to neutralize the agony and keep him alert. That was Kilgore's last real limb.
CALOIN: is that scifi armor?
CALOIN: you can’t have scifi armor here.
Kilgore stood before Sita Moon. Sephiroth confirmed, this blue-haired elf was the target of Willful1's beacon.
KILGORE: I am here to protect Sita Moon.
CALOIN: Fuck a large duck in the ass.
KILGORE: I am a Galaxy Knight in service of the Imperator.
CALOIN: She don’t need your protection.
CALOIN: She does fine on her own.
CALOIN: Get out of here!
KILGORE: My ship is destroyed.
CALOIN: Well your kind isn’t welcome here, so we need to get moving.
CALOIN: And we doesn’t mean you!
