Set: Temporary Agency office.
RECEPTIONIST is sitting behind her desk.
LIGHTS UP
BEATRICE enters. RECEPTIONIST stares at Beatrice blatantly a few seconds before speaking.
RECEPTIONIST
Can I help you?
BEATRICE
Hi, my name is Beatrice Catts. You said it was urgent I come down here?
Can I help you?
BEATRICE
Hi, my name is Beatrice Catts. You said it was urgent I come down here?
RECEPTIONIST is silent a few seconds.
RECEPTIONIST
Catts... Oh yes, Catts. Yes, Dr. Dendrobates called. He said he wanted to discontinue your employment. He said you did a good job, and he will be sending out your last paycheck this coming Friday.
BEATRICE
I'm fired?
RECEPTIONIST
If you were fired, we wouldn't attempt to find you new employment. You're at the limit, remember? He said you were a very hard worker, and that we should make sure you are quickly employed, but your service was no longer necessary at his office.

RECEPTIONIST

BEATRICE draws her cell phone from her purse.
RECEPTIONIST
He asked that you please not contact him for your final check. We are to take care of everything.
BEATRICE closes her phone and exit. RECEPTIONIST goes over her papers a few seconds.
